The Storm’s Insight
We often think ego is something that inflates us.
Arrogance. Certainty. Pride.
What we overlook is how often ego deflates us instead. How it shrinks our movement while convincing us we are being wise.
We wrap it in justifications about how we aren’t ready. That we need more clarity to take a risk.
More certainty to make a decision.
More time before we act.
We call it patience.
We call it discernment.
We call it being responsible.
But beneath the language is something simpler.
Avoidance.
We avoid revealing our work because it isn’t “ready.” Because it isn’t perfect.
Perfectionism is fear wrapped in a different cloth. A cloth that makes you believe it’s keeping you safe—when, in fact, it is delaying your becoming.
So go ahead.
Keep postponing the thing you already know you must do.
Your ego will approve.
And your fear will remain unchallenged.
The Forge’s Reflection
Some pauses are wisdom. Most are fear wearing a watch.
The Sovereign’s Task
Name the thing you keep delaying.
What consequence are you trying to avoid?
What is the cost of remaining unfinished?
