“The opposite of courage is not cowardice. It is conformity.”
Rollo May

The Storm’s Insight
There are many faces to refusal.
Some loud.
Some invisible.
Sometimes, it shows up as obedience.
Obedience to the expectations of others. To the role you learned would keep you included. To the persona you forged because it worked.
You confined yourself to the projections of those around you.
And it makes sense.
It kept you valued.
Appreciated.
Secure.
Loved.
What you’ve missed is this: Some people only know how to love the version of you that performs for them.
So you keep performing, fearing what happens if you stop belonging.
You mistake acceptance from others for safety within yourself.
So you don the mask in obedience.
You don’t realize the mask is the refusal.
The Forge’s Reflection
Expectation is the leash the world uses—and the one you learned to wear.
The Sovereign’s Task
What mask do you wear for the sake of others?
What does that mask give you?
What does it cost to keep you wearing it?
