“Do not seek to have events happen as you want them to, but instead want them to happen as they do happen, and your life will go well.”
Epictetus

The Storm’s Insight
Something interesting happens when you finally gather the courage to answer the Call.
You try to control it.
You over-plan.
You overthink.
You try to anticipate every risk and neutralize every unknown.
You tell yourself this is wisdom.
Then reality deviates from your design.
And you panic.
You lash out.
You blame timing.
You resist what is unfolding.
This is the ego attempting to manage the Self — treating destiny as a project to optimize rather than a force to align with.
The ego does not deny the Call.
It accepts it — conditionally.
It tries to contain what is larger than it.
But containment does not create freedom. It creates fracture.
You are not harmed by what you cannot control. You are harmed by insisting that you should be able to.
You do not need to surrender everything.
But you do need to stop pretending you are in charge of what called you.
The Call does not require your approval. And it will not submit to management.
That management is refusal.
The Forge’s Reflection
What you try to tame will turn against you.
The Sovereign’s Task
Notice where you are cooperating conditionally.
Where are you saying yes — while quietly preparing to retreat?
What would remain if you stopped managing the outcome?
